H Street Hotel, Washington DC, Paradigm Construction
The H Street Hotel project is sitting on one of the last remaining open lots in DC’s Chinatown District. The project consisted of over 5000 cubic yards of concrete with eleven stories of framed slab above grade, plus an additional two framed decks below grade supported on a mat foundation. Like most sites in downtown DC, it had extremely limited access and significant logistical challenges. The small site footprint was most challenging due to the need for cross-lot bracing. The project included a green roof and two bio-retention planters on the East and West side of the second floor.
